PATTEN - RADIO 1 SESSION

Two new post-GLAQJO XAACSSO tracks from patten - ever in ellipses - taken from his BBC Radio 1 session with Huw Stephens. Listen from 1:18hrs onwards here

PATTEN - EDITS

After the acclaim of his 2011 debut album - GLAQJO XAACSSO - we’re very excited to say patten will play his first audiovisual show on Thursday 19th January at CAMP Basement in Old St, London (Facebook event/£5 advance tickets). The album is now available on CD for the first time and limited UK indie shop and NPIP webstore orders will receive EDITS, a full length work “extending, shifting and re-imagining elements from the album” in the London producer’s idiosyncratic style. Tracks ‘V’ and ‘IX’ are available below:

PATTEN - LOGQAJ ACSXSOA

A third remix EP, with Spare, Yearning Kru, Erratic Boulder and Lee Gamble taking select tracks from patten’s GLAQJO XAACSSO album:

Each remixer gets a bunch of chunks from a finished track. One track per remixer. No stems. No finished full track to compare against. Passing the fragments like bits of code divorced from the full program. See what gets retained, what comes through from the sonic DNA.

PATTEN - QALOGJ OACSSXA

Listen to QALOGJ OACSSXA, the second remix EP from patten's acclaimed GLAQJO XAACSSO album, with Ukkonen, Dro Carey and Halls again working to the London producer’s following diktat:

Each remixer gets a bunch of chunks from a finished track. One track per remixer. No stems. No finished full track to compare against. Passing the fragments like bits of code divorced from the full program. See what gets retained, what comes through from the sonic DNA.”

PATTEN - PLURALS

Lava strewn video for ‘Plurals' by the ever-enigmatic patten, directed by Jane Eastlight. We’re proud to announce the London producer will perform a special audiovisual live show to celebrate the album’s release on January 19th 2012 (details and advance tickets).

Nail the Cross IV

Our fourth Nail the Cross festival is Friday and Saturday this week at the Shacklewell Arms in Dalston, East London. Alongside the above line up - featuring Nite Jewel, Pariah, Echo Lake, Sex Worker, Doldrums, patten and more - we’ve a special secret guest and a video installation courtesy of Take Courage gallery. Tickets are available in advance or at the door on either evening. For a taste of the weekend’s vibe, Not Not Fun's Holy Strays, performing on the second day of the event, has contributed  a mix and, beneath that, we’ve had a go ourselves.

PATTEN - JLAGQO CSOAAXS

Patten released his debut album - GLAQJO XAACSSO - last week to significant praise from FACT (“tremendous”), Boomkat (“among the albums of the year”), Bleep.com (track of the week), the Quietus (“excellent”), The Wire and Pitchfork.

Today sees the release of JLAGQO CSOAAXS, a remix EP by artists including Sculpture, C Powers and The Slow Revolt. Patten’s methodology for the project?

Each remixer gets a bunch of chunks from a finished track. One track per remixer. No stems. No finished full track to compare against. So basically passing the fragments like bits of code divorced from the full program. See what gets retained, what comes through from these bits of sonic DNA.”

PATTEN FACT MIX

Listen to patten’s mix for FACT Magazine ahead of his GLAQJO XAACSSO album - recently given 9/10 on Drowned in Sound and called “one of the year’s most exciting debuts” by FACT themselves - release today.

PATTEN - ‘FIRE DREAM’

Remarkable" - FACT

Thrilling" - Abeano

revelation… perfectly honed and executed… dense 4/4 psychedelia that is just madly engrossing… suggests superior mid-90s IDM re-wired for the hypnagogic generation… disorientingly complex but breathtakingly immediate too.. this will surely rank among the albums of the year" - Boomkat

'Fire dream', from the upcoming GLAQJO XAACSSO' album due 26/09/2011 on LP/DL.

patten - GLAQJO XAACSSO

Heady, raw and visceral, mysterious London producer patten’s ‘GLAQJO XAACSSO’ record will be released on September 26th through No Pain In Pop on limited 12” vinyl and DL.

Working out from a space somewhere between early house, Factory Records and post punk, Warp’s mid-90s catalogue, shoegaze, Musique Concrète and 2000s Funktion One bass pressure, a myriad of forms unite into a rare, emotionally rich and euphoric whole with the precision worthy of a true auteur. An hallucinatory, truly unique and all-enveloping experience.

"…appears as if from some parallel world; prismatic and mirage-like, soaked in the searing heat of urgency."
