Our fourth Nail the Cross festival is Friday and Saturday this week at the Shacklewell Arms in Dalston, East London. Alongside the above line up - featuring Nite Jewel, Pariah, Echo Lake, Sex Worker, Doldrums, patten and more - we’ve a special secret guest and a video installation courtesy of Take Courage gallery. Tickets are available in advance or at the door on either evening. For a taste of the weekend’s vibe, Not Not Fun’s Holy Strays, performing on the second day of the event, has contributed a mix and, beneath that, we’ve had a go ourselves.
The work of Doldrums - aka. 21 year old Montrealer Airick Woodhead - floats in a sea of chopped up samples, disembodied vocals and tribal percussion. We’re happy to announce Empire Sound - a manic EP of electro-hallucinogenic freak outs and fuzzy warm nostalgia - will be available through No Pain In Pop shortly. For now, listen to ‘I’m Homesick Sittin’ Up Here in My Satellite’ below.
